This month everything’s going down at Freewheeling Bicycles, at the corner of San Gabriel and 24th St. The event runs from 11am-4pm THIS Saturday (31st), and from the sound of things there’s gonna be a lot of great stuff there:

Don’t know if you noticed the Coffee trailer on the south side of the building, The Good Bike Coffee Cart, I have talked to Charlie, the owner and he’s gunna hook up a FrankenBike special if you bring your own mug, its $1 coffee all day!!

FreeWheeling its self will have a ton of OEM parts such as saddles, handle bars, etc, on a few tables out side.

Thanks for the heads-up on OEM parts and a killer coffee deal. Makes showing up at 11am on a Saturday just that much easier…

Session announced! 6:30pm at Sewell Park in San Marcos on Sunday 8/9.

Directions: from I-35 in San Marcos exit Aquarena springs, go west, you can’t miss it.

This reminds me, I need to create a “Videos” section with all of the club’s videos.  I think we have some going back to as far as 2003.

Hey everybody, just a quick update, because there is a TON of stuff going on right now.  First off, Austin Reggae Fest was awesome!  Last year it was kind of crappy, this year it was much better.  If you missed it, what the hell were you thinking?  Saturday night we busted out a glow-in-the-dark Nighthack and played for well over an hour after dark.  If you just found out about the club this weekend, here is the scoop on stuff we got going on this week:

• Tuesday 4/21: session in Kyle Park, in Kyle, TX at 7pm.  Email ironcladben /at/ footbag {dot} org for more info.
• Wednesday 4/22: usual session outside the Palmer Events center at 7pm.
• Saturday 4/25: EEYORE’S BIRTHDAY. If you come to one event in Austin this year, it should be this one.  It’s a FREE “Keep Austin Weird” themed festival at Pease Park on Lamar all day Saturday.  Hack circles, drum circles, people in costumes, potato sack races, the list goes on.  Crazy fun,  BE THERE!

Well it has been 2 months but I finally got my stuff together to capture and edit the Brenham Jam footage into a video.  Some people only got a few runs on tape, so this is 4:45 of the best of everyone’s shred from that day.  Enjoy:

1. I hit MOBIUS last night.  It’s been a dream move for a long time.
2. Austin Reggae Fest is this weekend!  The event benefits the Austin Capital Area Food Bank

Well the world is always changing, and we in the footbag community feel it’s important to keep up with the times. In 2009 the new hot technology is Twitter and we are now on there at www.twitter.com/AustinHack. It’s the best way to get real time updates about footbag activity going on in Austin.

The best part is, you can use your mobile phone (any type of phone, you don’t need a fancy schmany iPhone or anything) to get text message updates about sessions. Just send the message “Follow AustinHack” to 40404 and Twitter will send you a text message every time we tweet.  So say for example we decide to have an impromptu session in front of the Texas Capitol randomly on a Tuesday night, we’ll tweet and if you’re following us, you can see it and head over and join in.   Isn’t technology cool?

April is coming up quickly!  I like to call it “the most wonderful time of the year” because it has two festivals that always get tons of hack circles going:

• Austin Reggae Fest.  April 18th-19th, 2009 at Auditorium Shores.  Admission is $10/day, the event benefits the Austin Capital Area Food Bank
• Eeyore’s Birthday.  April 25th, 2009 at Pease Park.  A fun FREE event that celebrates the eccentricity and “Keep It Weird” attitude of Austin.

We’ll be at both, kicking till our legs fall off.

Spring is finally here and footbag season is in full effect.  Check out this great new video from one of my favorite players: Erik Chan from Hackrifice in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.   I don’t know about you but this gets me PUMPED to shred.
